Your Gosford website looks fine and gets no enquiries. Here's why.

A good-looking site that produces nothing usually has four specific problems. How to diagnose each one on your own Gosford business website before spending money on a rebuild.

Your Gosford website looks fine and gets no enquiries. Here's why.

The most common conversation I have with Gosford business owners starts the same way: "The site looks good. Nobody contacts us through it."

That's usually not a design problem, which is why a redesign often changes nothing. It's one of four things, and you can check all four yourself this afternoon.

1. Nobody is arriving

Before blaming the page, check whether anyone is on it. Open Google Search Console (free, and if you don't have it, that's the first job) and look at impressions over the last three months.

  • Very few impressions, you have a visibility problem, not a conversion problem. Fix page structure, service pages and your Google Business Profile.
  • Plenty of impressions, few clicks, your titles and descriptions aren't compelling. Rewrite them to say what you do and where.
  • Plenty of clicks, no enquiries, now it's the page. Keep reading.

2. The page is slow enough to lose people

Most Gosford enquiries start on a phone. Test your homepage on mobile data, not office wifi. If it takes more than about three seconds to become usable, a meaningful share of visitors never see your content at all.

Usual culprits, in order: uncompressed hero images, four fonts, a slider nobody uses, and page-builder plugins left over from a previous rebuild.

Get a real number instead of a feeling, the free speed and SEO audit takes under a minute.

3. The page never asks

Look at your homepage on a phone. Count how many taps it takes to contact you. If the answer is more than one, that's the problem.

Problem Fix
Phone number only in the footer Tap-to-call in the header, on every page
Contact form with 9 fields Three: name, phone, what you need
"Get in touch" as the only CTA "Call for a quote today" with the number visible
Form that goes to an unmonitored inbox Test it, then forward it somewhere you actually read

That last one is more common than you'd believe. Submit your own form from your phone right now.

4. The page doesn't answer the obvious questions

People don't enquire when they're unsure. The questions holding them back are almost always the same four:

  • How much does this cost, roughly? Give a range. Any range.
  • Do you cover me? Name the suburbs, Gosford, Narara, West Gosford, Point Clare.
  • Have you done this before? Recent jobs, real photos, dates.
  • What happens if I call? "We'll ask a few questions and book a look in the same week."

Answering these four in plain language usually does more for enquiries than any visual change.

A sensible order of work

  1. Search Console, so you're deciding with data
  2. Speed pass, images, fonts, unused plugins
  3. Contact path, tap-to-call, three-field form, test it
  4. Content, prices, service area, proof, what happens next
  5. Only then consider a redesign

Redesigning before you've done 1–4 means you rebuild the same problems in nicer colours.
